Laurence Meyer, MD

Laurence Meyer started to work in VA research as a lab technician working in biochemical genetics at the San Diego VA in 1972, after competing college at UC San Diego. He received a PhD in genetics from UC Davis, and an MD from the University if Miami, and completed residencies and fellowships at the University of Utah in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Clinical Genetics and Geriatrics. He was a professor of Dermatology and Internal Medicine at the University of Utah and a Salt Lake VAMC research physician. He became the ACOS for Research at the Salt Lake VA, the National Director for Genomic Medicine, and the Chief officer of Specialty Care for VHA. He retired in 2023 and is an emeritus professor of Internal Medicine and Dermatology at the University of Utah.
